Abstract

Graphene and related two-dimensional materials are considered promising for future electronic technologies. Among their advantages are the high electron mobility of graphene and the large contrast in the on-off current ratio of two dimensional semiconductors such as MoS2. With such properties the latter makes an excellent platform for high frequency devices operating in the hundred GHz regime, while the former is mostly suitable for low-power integrated circuits. Recent studies on the interaction of ionizing radiation with such atomically thin materials have shown their low cross section associated from their sub-nanometer thickness. In this talk we will review the properties and unique physics possessed by two-dimensional materials and will discuss their potential in future radiation resilient electronics and infrastructure for technologies related to space environment
