Research Proposal and Doctoral Dissertation
Submission and Examination of the Research Proposal
The student must send the research proposal to Rita as a PDF file, with a copy sent to the supervisor.
A Supervisory Committee consisting of four members will be appointed:
Supervisor
Chair of the committee
Two reviewers (at least one of whom must be external)
After approval of the composition of the Supervisory Committee, the department will coordinate the examination date.
If revisions are required, the student must make the necessary corrections and submit the following documents to Nirit:
Revised research proposal in PDF format.
A signed revision table approved by the Chair of the committee (the file will be sent to the student if required).
Following the examination (and completion of revisions, if required), the research proposal will be submitted for final approval by the PhD Committee.
“Midway” Meeting
The second meeting of the Supervisory Committee takes place approximately three years after the beginning of the PhD studies (under the responsibility of the supervisor) and is intended to evaluate the student’s progress.
The meeting includes:
A short presentation by the student (approximately 10–15 minutes).
A discussion by the committee, including a short private session without the supervisor.
Following the meeting, a summary form signed by the committee members and the student must be submitted to the Head of Department. The Chair of the committee is responsible for submitting the form through the department office.
Submission and Examination of the PhD Dissertation
The student must send the PhD dissertation to Rita as a PDF file, with a copy sent to the supervisor.
The department will coordinate the examination date with the Committee (preferably the same committee that examined the research proposal).
If corrections are required, the student must make the necessary corrections and submit the following documents to Nirit:
Revised PhD dissertation in PDF format.
A signed revised table approved by the Chair of the committee (the file will be sent to the student if required)
Following the examination (and completion of corrections, if required), the PhD dissertation will be submitted for final approval by the PhD Committee.
