מטרות הקורס: קורס מתקדם לתואר שני, שלישי בקינטיקה פיסיקאלית, מהווה קורס המשך לפיסיקת המצב המוצק.

 

 תוכן הקורס: (רציונל, נושאים)

 

    I. Boltzmann equation .

Stochastic process, phase space and K-entropy, microscopic phase density, Ensembles and probability, distribution function, Liouville’s theorem, master Equation, Bogolubov's chain equations, Hydrodynamics. Boltzmann equation, collision integral, τ-approximation, heat conductivity and viscosity of free electrons.

 

2. Kinetics in metals.

Quasiparticles. Electro and heat magneto-conductivity. Thermoelectric and Thermo-magnetic phenomena.

 

3. Kinetics in collisionless plasma. Boltzmann equation in magnetic field. Vlasov equations and Landau damping. Dielectric function and skin effect.

 

II. Langevin equation: ballistic motion and diffusion, classical and quantum Einstein relations. Harmonic analyses of Langevin equation. Velocity-velocity and force-force correlation functions, power spectra, classical and quantum limits, Nyquist formulas.

 

1. Fokker –Plank equations.Markov processes and Smoluhovsky equation. Diffusion equation as continuity equation, diffusion constant and mobility.

 

2. Kinetics in magnetic. Bloch Equation. Spin waves. Motion of a domain wall.

Magnetic solitons and instantons.

 

 

3. Kinetics in superconductors. Energetic gap and quasiparticles. Boltzmann equation for quasiparticles and heat diffusion coefficient. Penetration of a longitudinal electric field. Hole's and electron's brunches disbalanse. Time Dependent Ginzburg Landau Equation and Langevin theory. Superconductivity in a long channel and phase slipping centers. Josephson junction with random noise.

Nucleation of a superconducting phase. Superconductivity and cosmology.

 

IV. Quantum Kinetics.

Matrix density. Pauli master equations. Lasers. Linear response. Kubo formula. Keldysh diagrammatic technique. Fluctuation-Dissipative Theorem.
