Effect of interactions on electronic transport in 1D quantum wires
We have studied the electronic transport in GaAs and InAs one dimensional quantum wires. We have observed that in disordered wires the electronic transport is strongly affected by the Coulomb interactions. The experimental results are well described in the framework of so called Luttinger liquid theory. We find the value of the Luttinger interacting parameter for our wires. The conductance peaks observed in Coulomb blockade regime in InAs wires reduce their values at low temperature in contrast with the Coulomb blockade peaks reported so far in all the experiments in other material systems. This phenomenon was predicted theoretically for the materials with the Luttinger Interaction parameter g<1/2.
In the presentation, I will give few possible explanations why the effective Luttinger parameter g in the InAs wires is smaller than the one observed in other 1D systems, like Carbon nanotubes, or GaAs quantum wires reported so far.
