A new paper by Dr. Yossi Ben-Zion highlights the benefits of integrating artificial intelligence into physics education

How can artificial intelligence improve students’ understanding of experimental physics?

A new paper by Dr. Yossi Ben Zion has been published in the prestigious journal Physical Review Physics Education Research and selected as an Editor’s Selection ✨ - a distinction awarded by the editors to papers with particularly significant and impactful contributions to the field.

🔬 The study explores an innovative use of artificial intelligence (AI) in physics education:
students in a second-year physics course were asked to create, refine, and validate simulations of physical phenomena using AI tools, and to compare this approach with working with physical equipment and with a pre-built simulator.

📊 The results indicate that students who worked with AI-based simulations achieved better conceptual understanding of the material and reported a more positive learning experience compared to students who worked with physical equipment alone.
