Chinese New Year celebrations
The Chinese New Year that took place on 12/02/2021 marks the beginning of the Taurus Year celebrations! The festivities take several days and are considered an official public holiday.
The Chinese calendar, is based on the lunar cycle and is represented in Chinese astrology by animals in a regular cycle of 12 years. According to the Chinese forecast, the current year, the year of the Taurus will be a year of opportunities and hope, a year of stability (Amen!).
Also, in the Department of Physics we celebrate Chinese New Year every year with our dear Chinese students. This year we celebrated through Zoom, together with the deputy chairman of the department of Physics, Dr. Yossi Ben-Zion, and Prof. Yujun Zeng from Shandong University in China.
So have a good Chinese year!
